PSG set to sign Kang-in Lee to replace Lionel Messi

Paris Saint-Germain are on the cusp of securing a deal for RCD Mallorca attacking midfielder/winger Kang-In Lee, according to Foot Mercato.

Mallorca and PSG are in advanced negotiations for the Valencia Academy graduate.

Lee joined Mallorca on a free transfer in the summer of 2021 and had an impressive season in La Liga.

He featured in 39 matches this season. He scored six goals and provided seven assists (14 big chances created).

The 22-year-old’s outstanding performances have garnered interest from top European clubs.

Atletico Madrid showed interest in his services, but PSG are the frontrunner in the race for his signature.

The reports claim that PSG tabled €15 million to Mallorca for the young South Korean international.

In contrast, Atletico Madrid’s bid stands at €12 million. Negotiations are still underway, but an agreement seems imminent.

Furthermore, Lee has reportedly already reached a personal agreement with the Ligue 1 champions.

The potential acquisition of Lee would help fill the void left by the recent departure of Lionel Messi. The Argentine left PSG to join Inter Miami on a free transfer.

Also, there are rumours surrounding Neymar’s possible exit from Parc des Princes.

If they finalise the deal, Lee’s arrival in Paris will inject fresh energy and creativity into PSG’s midfield and on the flank.

Les Parisiens are in for a rebuild this summer with Messi leaving. Kylian Mbappe could leave this summer too.

Also, they have been trying to sell Neymar off since last summer. They are trying again this summer.

Sporting director Luis Campos is trying to build a young, moderate, and competitive squad for the next manager. He is not targeting big names.

They sacked Christophe Galtier and are in advanced discussions to hire Julian Nagelsmann. The German will have the task of leading this PSG side into a new era.

In addition, Fabrizio Romano has disclosed that PSG will sign another talent, Cher Ndour, from Benfica as a free agent this summer. They beat an English club in the race to sign the youngster.

The deal has Campos written over it because he loves to poach talents from Portugal, especially Benfica’s academy.
