Bild reports that both Nico Elvedi and Florian Neuhaus are increasingly unlikely to stay at Borussia Mönchengladbach this summer, with both their contracts expiring in 2024.
Elvedi and Neuhaus are set to be put up for sale as they have yet to make any efforts in extending their contracts at the club. Sporting director Roland Virkus has previously made it known that if players are not committed to the club then they will likely be sold.
In the event that Elvedi and Neuhaus are sold, it could leave new manager Gerardo Seoane with up to €60m to spend with it also looking increasingly likely that Manu Koné will also be sold in the summer.
Elvedi joined Gladbach in 2015 from FC Zürich and has struggled for form over the past two seasons. The same can be said for Neuhaus who joined from 1860 Munich in 2017.
It is clear that Gladbach have learnt from the mistakes they made with Marcus Thuram and Ramy Bensebaini. Both could have been sold for a profit but instead, they both let their contracts run down so they could leave on a free transfer this summer.
