FC Augsburg are believed to be interested in taking Bayern Munich striker Mathys Tel on loan.
If FC Bayern and head coach Thomas Tuchel want to relocate the 18-year-old temporarily to give him better chances of playing regularly, Augsburg would be interested in signing him, Sport Bild reports.
Augsburg are considering the possible departure of Mergim Berisha, and 18-year-old Tel could move to the WWK-Arena on a temporary basis as his replacement.
Whether a deal can be struck is questionable, however, as Tel’s management made it clear around four weeks ago that there was a clear plan to stay at the Allianz Arena and fight for playing time.
“It’s official: Mathys will stay in Munich, no matter what,” Gadiri Camara, owner of the consulting agency representing Tel, told tz.
“The first year was very instructive for him, he is on a mission. If he wants to be number one, he knows he has to keep working hard and take one step at a time.”
