David De Gea to snub Saudi League offer to stay at Man Utd

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea will snub interest from the Saudi Pro League to stay at the club this summer, according to talkSPORT.

De Gea will reject any offer from Saudi Arabia. The 32-year-old is one of the many European stars being targeted by the country this summer.

The Gulf nation is trying to attract the biggest names in football and is dishing out massive contracts to entice them.

Al-Nassr signed Cristiano Ronaldo months ago, and Al-Ittihad have secured a deal for Karim Benzema. Al-Ittihad are close to securing the signature of Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante.

Saudi Arabia plans to make offers to other stars with expiring contracts. Ilkay Gundogan, Wilfried Zaha, and Heung-min Son are on their radar. Lionel Messi rejected them to move to Inter Miami.

Another top star has rejected Saudi Arabia’s advances, with De Gea opting to stay and fight for his place.

The Spaniard’s contract runs out this summer, but he expects a new offer from the club to keep him in Manchester beyond this season.

De Gea won the Premier League Golden Glove, keeping the most clean sheets.

However, there are still doubts about him as he made several high-profile errors that cost United crucial games.

The former Atletico Madrid goalie was unconvincing in their FA Cup final clash with Manchester City.

Despite United manager Erik ten Hag publicly backing him, the club is preparing to sign a new keeper that could force De Gea to become a second-string option.

Manchester United have FC Porto star Diogo Costa on their shortlist to replace De Gea between the sticks. 

The Portuguese international has established himself as one of the best keepers in the Primeira Liga. The 23-year-old has a €75 million release.

United also have an eye on Dominik Livakovic and Andre Onana.
