RB Leipzig have announced a change in the goalkeeping department today, with Leopold Zingerle joining from Paderborn and Ørjan Nyland leaving.
Zingerle moves to the Red Bull Arena on a free transfer after his contract with Paderborn expired, replacing Nyland, who is out of contract with Leipzig.
“RBL has developed into an absolute top club over the last few years, and to be able to play for a club that is constantly challenging for trophies and titles is something very special for me,” said Zingerle, who was Paderborn’s first-choice goalkeeper for years before slipping behind Jannik Huth in the pecking order ahead of the 2022/23 season.
“I am very happy to make the move to RB Leipzig. The quality of the goalkeepers and the entire squad is very high. I’m looking forward to working with the team every day,” he added.
