RB Leipzig will look to retain their DFB Pokal crown when they play Eintracht Frankfurt at the Olympiastadion on Saturday night.
Christopher Nkunku scored the equaliser against Freiburg in the final last season before Domenico Tedesco’s side went on to lift their first major title in their 14 year history via penalties. The Frenchman, who has 30 goal contributions (22 goals, 8 assists) in 35 games across all competitions, is expected to partner Timo Werner. André Silva will miss the tie after picking up a muscular injury in training.
Dani Olmo, who signed a new contract until 2027, will be the creative outlet alongside Dominik Szoboszlai with Konrad Laimer and Amadou Haidara providing cover for the defence.
Other than Péter Gulácsi, who has been sidelined for the long-term, and Joško Gvardiol, who misses the game through suspension, Marco Rose has a full strength squad available. In the absence of Gvardiol, expect Lukas Klostermann to start alongside captain Willi Orban in defence.
Predicted RB Leipzig vs Eintracht Frankfurt
Janis Blaswich – Benjamin Henrichs, Lukas Klostermann, Willi Orban, Marcel Halstenberg – Konrad Laimer, Amadou Haidara – Dominik Szoboszlai, Dani Olmo – Christopher Nkunku, Timo Werner.
