As reported by Kicker, Sheraldo Becker (28) is ready to take the next step in his career, meaning his Union Berlin future remains uncertain.
Becker had 19 goal contributions (11 goals, 8 assists) in the Bundesliga last season, a new record after beating Taiwo Awoniyi’s 2021/22 record (17 contributions). But as Becker enters the final year of his contract, the Suriname attacker is considering a move from the capital club this summer and is ready to take the next financial step with possible interest from the Premier League.
Speaking earlier in the season, Union’s Oliver Ruhnert knows of Becker’s potential departure: “We are in regular and good dialogue with Sheraldo and since his contract was extended we have been aware that he could earn more money elsewhere. We respect that. But of course we would like to keep him.”
In February, Becker also spoke of making the next step in his career with Ajax being a potential option whilst Nottingham Forest made an enquiry about the forward in December.
Union clinched the fourth and final Champions League spot ahead of Freiburg on the final day of the season after beating Werder Bremen, but Becker may not feature for them next season.
