St. Pauli attacker Daniel-Kofi Kyereh has reached an agreement in principle with Freiburg, according to Kicker.
The Bundesliga side are now negotiating a fee with St. Pauli, who want €4.5m for the Ghanaian international.
Kyereh scored 12 and created 10 in 29 2. Bundesliga games for St. Pauli last weekend. The 26-year-old’s performances also attracted interest from Bundesliga trio Stuttgart, Mainz and newly-promoted Werder Bremen.
An agreement between Freiburg and St. Pauli is still pending but with SCF’s increased budget after qualifying for Europe, expect this deal to move forward over the next week.
Kyereh has just one-year remaining on his deal at St. Pauli, meaning the Hamburg club have to sell this summer or risk losing the offensive player for a free transfer in 2023.
This comes after Freiburg pulled out of the race to sign Wilfried Gnonto (18) from FC Zürich, who value the Italian forward over €10m despite just 12 months remaining on his contract. Kyereh the preferred candidate.
