According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, Marco Asensio (27) has made the decision to join Paris Saint-Germain when his contract with Real Madrid expires this summer. The 27-year-old Spanish international has reportedly reached a long-term agreement with PSG, where he is expected to earn €10 million per year in salary and bonuses. While the contract is yet to be signed, the move is anticipated to be finalised after Madrid’s final La Liga game against Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.
After lengthy negotiations with Real Madrid over a contract extension, Asensio has decided to pursue a new challenge with PSG. The French champions have emerged as the frontrunners in the race for his signature, surpassing strong interest from Premier League club Aston Villa.
Asensio joined Real Madrid from Mallorca in 2014 and has spent seven years at the Spanish capital club. Throughout his tenure, he has been a key figure, contributing significantly to the team’s success. The talented winger has made 50 appearances for Los Blancos this season, registering 12 goals and eight assists. During his time at Real Madrid, Asensio has amassed an impressive collection of 17 major trophies, including three Champions League titles, three La Liga titles, and one Copa del Rey, among others.
