As Sergio Rico (29) continues to receive medical care in Seville, his health condition following the riding accident remains unknown. However, amidst this challenging time, his wife took to social media and has posted a worrying message.
Alba Silva, his partner, shared a message on Instagram on Monday evening, conveying profound appreciation for the countless expressions of support received for the PSG goalkeeper and his loved ones, following a horse accident that led to his hospitalisation, causing widespread concern. Her message stated: “Thank you for all the love you have for us. Sergio has a lot of people praying for him and he is very strong. I have no words to describe what I feel.”
Silva then posted a second message early on Tuesday morning that conveyed a more worrying tone. “Don’t leave me alone, my love, because I swear I cannot. I don’t know how to live without you. We love you a lot,” she said on Instagram. PSG teammate Carlos Soler and FC Sevilla President Pepe Castro visited Rico in the hospital yesterday.
The 29-year-old Spanish goalkeeper was a part of the Sevilla team that won the Europa League in 2015 and 2016. His career includes 29 Premier League appearances with Fulham before going to PSG. The Europa League winner made his first appearance with the Ligue 1 club in 2019 making 13 league appearances before being loaned to Mallorca.
