Barcelona and Ilkay Gündogan (32) have been in talks again in recent days. The Manchester City midfielder’s uncle and agent, Ilhan Gündogan, and the Catalan club, through an intermediary, have once again exchanged views on the length and cost of his contract should he join the La Liga champions, report Mundo Deportivo.
The German midfielder’s contract at City comes to an end on June 30 and the Camp Nou outfit want to sign him on a three-year deal – something that interests the player.
In recent weeks, Barça were concerned as talks were not progressing and City wanted to extend his deal. However, the positive changes in Barça’s economic situation with the departures of Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets, have made it possible to make some more moves and guarantee that there will be no registration problems.
With Gündogan as captain, Manchester City are hoping to win the treble this season, with the Premier League already wrapped up.
