After evidently giving up any hope of signing French defender Evan N’dicka to a contract extension, Eintracht Frankfurt are apparently preparing to re-open the matter after the season concludes. This is according to Paul Bartmuß of Germany’s preeminent footballing publication. The 23-year-old Frenchman – estimated to be worth some €32 million – may entertain some thoughts of remaining in the RheinMain metropolis if his German club can qualify for Europe via the Pokal.
Eintracht are set to contest RB Leipzig in Germany’s domestic cup Finale in Berlin on June 3rd. One potential reason for the turnaround, according to Bartmuß, is that N’dicka hasn’t been playing an especially strong season. As a result, interest in him from other clubs may have cooled. Bartmuß cites his own sources to claim that there has been an “internal signal” from player to club that renewed talks should take place.
