Paris Saint-Germain have announced that manager Christophe Galtier won’t direct today’s training session at the Camp des Loges for “medical reasons.”
PSG haven’t further specified the medical reason behind today’s absence but said that the former Lille OSC and OGC Nice manager will return tomorrow. Today’s session will be led by Thierry Oleksiak and João Sacramento.
Les Parisiens are currently preparing for gameweek 36 of the Ligue 1 calendar, which will see them travel to face Auxerre on Sunday evening. A victory would all but ensure their retention of the Ligue 1 title. The title will be secured should RC Lens fail to beat FC Lorient. Even in the case of a victory for Le Sang et Or, PSG would have a six-point buffer should they beat relegation-struggling Auxerre, whilst Les Parisiens have a vastly superior goal difference.
Galtier, whilst absent from Thursday’s session, will be expected to be on the sidelines for the match, although his long-term future at the club remains in question. He was recently left off the five-man shortlist for Ligue 1 manager of the year.
