Having helped Genoa C.F.C. secure promotion back to Italy’s Serie A, Spanish goalkeeper Josep Martinez will be permanently signed by his Italian loan club ahead of next season. This is according to a report in Germany’s “Sport Bild”, which claims that the 24-year-old will net the German Red Bulls €3 million.
Martinez made three appearances for Leipzig during the 2021/22 campaign. His prospects in Saxony looked bleaker than ever following the success of back-up keeper Janis Blaswich in Peter Gulacsi’s absence. Multiple sources now also claim that Leipzig have opted to sign Paderborn’s Leopard Zingerle as their new #3.
