Leeds United midfielder Weston McKennie has been told he has been ‘a failure’ following his move to Elland Road from Juventus.
Joining Leeds on loan from Juventus for the second half of this season, McKennie, 24, was expected to come to the Premier League and help secure the Whites’ top-flight survival.
Things haven’t quite gone to plan for the American international though. Having struggled to make an impression, McKennie, unlikely to want to be signed permanently, looks set to return to Turin at the end of the season.
And speaking about the struggling 24-year-old, American pundit Alexi Lalas, who spoke on his State of the Union podcast, said: “Whatever happens in the next three games, the loan is a failure. It has not been successful. The criticism McKennie has had has been fair and warranted. He’s expected to be more than he wants to be, more he can be.”
