Pau Torres’ contract at Villarreal expires in 2024 and several European clubs have once again shown interest in signing the centre-back, report Cadena Ser in Spain.
The Spain international is reportedly debating whether to renew his contract with the Yellow Submarine or accept one of the offers that may come in this summer.
Two seasons ago, Torres rejected an offer from Tottenham in the region of €50m, although the London club are not the only ones interested in acquiring his services. Aston Villa and Juventus have also shown interest.
Juventus sat down with the player’s agent last summer, according to Cadena Ser. The Turin side will be keeping an eye on the situation in case he decides not to renew his contract, while Villa boss Unai Emery worked with Torres during his spell at Villarreal.
Villarreal have proposed a long-term contract (between 8 and 10 seasons) and the highly-rated defender will have to make a decision at the end of the season. His priority is to play in Europe next season.
