Monaco predicted XI v Angers: Wissam Ben Yedder dropped, Guillermo Maripán doubtful

Kevin Volland looks set to start in the absence of Wissam Ben Yedder, who has been dropped for disciplinary reasons, whilst Guillermo Maripán will likely start on the bench.

Monaco have no new major fitness concerns heading into Sunday’s match against SCO Angers. Breel Embolo remains absent but is nearing a return, whilst Malang Sarr is still sidelined. It remains to be seen whether he will feature again in a Monaco shirt.

However, Les Monégasques will be without captain Ben Yedder, who has been dropped for disciplinary reasons by manager Philippe Clement. According to L’Équipe and Nice-Matin, the France international didn’t attend a tactical briefing. Volland is therefore set to start in his absence. Maripán was described as “a serious doubt” in Friday’s pre-match press conference, but the Chilean has been included in the matchday. However, he is not expected to start, and Chrislain Matsima is expected to take his place in the starting XI.

Monaco likely lineup v Angers:

Alexander Nübel – Caio Henrique, Chrislain Matsima, Axel Disasi, Vanderson – Mohamed Camara, Youssouf Fofana – Aleksandr Golovin, Eliesse Ben Seghir, Krépin Diatta – Kevin Volland.
