Real Sociedad playmaker David Silva (37) has been carefully preparing his future for some time now.
Guided by his entrepreneurial instinct, AS report that he bought an estate of almost one million square metres in Gran Canaria, in a mountainous region, at an altitude of 700 metres, with eight hectares dedicated to vineyards.
Silva’s aim was always to produce high-quality wine. He has six varieties of white wine, with Vijariego and Baboso being the top sellers. A bottle of the latter can cost €170 in a Michelin-starred restaurant in London.
Spanish football legend Andrés Iniesta is another illustrious winemaker.
Silva’s investments in real estate and tourism are also very select. The former Manchester City man owns an exclusive beach club in Amadores, in the south of the island, a more family-friendly luxury chill-out resort in Arguineguín, where he has built a resort of 88 first-class holiday homes, another 125-apartment complex in Maspalomas, a small 22-room hotel in Plaza Santa Ana in Las Palmas and another property in Lanzarote, all in conjunction with his partners in the Cordial group.
