Stuttgart secured their Bundesliga status for the 2022/23 season with a stoppage time winner against FC Köln on the final day of the season in May and it’s no secret that they’ll be changes at the club this summer.
According to Sky Germany, Stuttgart could earn between €50m and €70m by selling three players: Saša Kalajdžić, Borna Sosa and Orel Mangala, all of whom have been linked with a move away from the Mercedes-Benz Arena this summer.
€20m of that will be needed to offset the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic, which still leaves Stuttgart with around €50m to improve their squad.
VfB have Waldemar Anton, Konstantinos Mavropanos and Hiroki Ito but still want to strengthen their defence whilst they’ll need a goalscoring replacement should Kalajdžić leave the club, having been linked with Borussia Dortmund as an Erling Haaland replacement. Tiago Tomás alone wouldn’t be enough to offset the Austrian’s goals.
Sven Mislintat and Co. also want to slim down the midfield with a possibility that Mateo Klimowicz, Ömer Beyaz or Lilian Egloff leaving the club on loan this summer.
Stuttgart could be one of the busiest teams in Germany this summer.
