Celta Vigo have announced the signing of Williot Swedberg from Swedish side Hammarby.
The 18-year-old is the club’s first summer signing and joins on a five-year deal for a reported €4.7 million.
Swedberg passed his medical this morning before signing until 30 June 2027. The new signing had time to get to know his new surroundings and have lunch at a well-known steakhouse in Vigo.
Swedberg is one of Sweden’s top talents. A Swedish underage international, he has represented his country from U15 to U19 level. Celta sporting advisor Luis Campos was impressed by what he saw and decided to sign the player.
Last season he made 10 appearances in the Allsvenskan (Sweden’s top division) and scored five goals, one every 147 minutes for Hammarby.
He will join up with Eduardo Coudet’s squad for pre-season training.
In other transfer news involving the Galician side, José Fontán is leaving on loan to go to Dutch side Go Ahead Eagles and Néstor Araújo leaves to sign for Mexican club América.
