Europa League winners Eintracht Frankfurt are in discussions to sign Mario Götze from PSV, according to Bild.
Under contract until 2024 with the Dutch side, Götze has a reported release clause of just €4m, a feasible amount for SGE, who will be playing in the Champions League next season following their Europa League win.
However, the Bundesliga side face competition from Portugal to sign Götze. Playing under Roger Schmidt last season at PSV, the German coach is now at Benfica and would like to sign his former player.
Götze played 52 games in all competitions for PSV last season, scoring 12 and creating 11. An excellent achievement considering his ravaged injury history during his latter years at Borussia Dortmund.
Eintracht Frankfurt could complete two signings in the next week if they push to sign Götze. Die Adler have also held talks with Bayer Leverkusen striker Lucas Alario, who wants to continue playing in Europe as his B04 career comes to an end. The Argentine is allowed to leave for around €6.5m.
