Bayern Munich are out of the Champions League after a 1-1 draw with Manchester City at the Allianz Arena tonight wasn’t enough to overturn a three-goal deficit from the first leg.
After losing 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie, Bayern’s backs were against the wall and they were unable to turn the tie around at home tonight.
Erling Haaland opened the scoring in the 57th minute, capitalizing on Dayot Upamecano’s slip to fire the ball into the roof of the net.
Bayern pulled one back in the 83rd minute when Joshua Kimmich converted from the penalty spot after Manuel Akanji was adjudged to have handled Sadio Mané’s cross in the box, but it was too late to mount a comeback.
More to come.
