Konrad Laimer has signed a contract with Bayern Munich, according to Sky Germany‘s Florian Plettenberg. The 25-year-old has completed both medicals and signed a deal until 2027.
That means that Laimer will officially become a Bayern Munich player in the summer when his RB Leipzig contract expires. The Austrian was Julian Nagelsmann’s desired player at the Rekordmeister but even after his departure, Laimer will still join the Bundesliga leaders on a free transfer.
Even after a long-term injury at the start of the season, Laimer has been an integral player for RB Leipzig this season with 21 games across all competitions. Since his €7m move from RB Salzburg in July 2017, Laimer has played 182 games in all competitions, scoring 13 and creating 19.
It’s been known for some time that the probability of Laimer joining Bayern Munich in the summer was extremely high. RB Leipzig have already signed their replacement for the Austrian in RB Salzburg’s Nicolas Seiwald (21) for €20m.
