19-year-old U.S. international Paxten Aaronson impressed after coming on as a substitute in Eintracht Frankfurt’s 1-1 draw with Gladbach on Saturday, and was even voted player of the match by his club’s fans.
It was only Aaronson’s third appearance for the club since joining from Philadelphia Union in January. But Eintracht coach Oliver Glasner insists he rates him highly.
“Paxten already had some minutes with Philadelphia in the MLS. He is a highly talented, fantastic kid,” Glasner told Sport1 in the wake of Saturday’s game.
Naturally, Aaronson himself was happy after the match.
“I feel good and I’m happy that I’m getting my minutes. It’s a good experience for me,” he said, and went on to praise Glasner.
“He didn’t just support me in that game. Glasner also explains things to me in training. That kind of dialogue helps us young players,” Aaranson noted.
