According to Bild, Eintracht Frankfurt are considering making a move for Montpellier’s Elye Wahi (20), as a potential replacement for the highly-coveted Randal Kolo Muani (24).
Kolo Muani has adapted quickly to the Bundesliga, and in his first season in Germany, has 19 goals and 14 assists in 38 appearances in all competitions. That form has left Eintracht Frankfurt demanding €100m for Kolo Muani, who joined from FC Nantes on a free at the beginning of the season, but who has since gone on to break into the France national team.
Many of Europe’s elite, including Manchester United and Paris-Saint-Germain are said to be interested in signing the French forward. Should Kolo Muani be prised away, Bild are reporting that Frankfurt may look to replace him with another Frenchman, Wahi.
The French youth international has been impressive for Montpellier throughout the season, despite the collective struggles of the team, scoring 13 goals. Frankfurt’s sporting director Markus Krösche is said to be impressed by his qualities and has already made contact with the player. Wahi could be available for around €30m.
