The Collectif Ultras Paris, the biggest supporters’ group of Paris Saint-Germain, has spoken out in an official statement regarding the recent racism allegations against Christophe Galtier. The group has made it clear that they will not accept the coach remaining with the club if the accusations made against him are proven to be true.
In a statement released on social media, the Collectif Ultras Paris said, “If the accusations against him are proven to be true, it is not acceptable for this person to remain in the club’s organisational chart. We remind that we have always taken a stand against all forms of discrimination, and this fight is a historic cause of our Virage.”
The allegations against Galtier, which have not been confirmed, relate to potentially racist and Islamophobic remarks made by the coach during his time at OGC Nice. PSG, Galtier’s current club, is conducting its own investigation into the matter.
This was according to information from RMC’s “L’After Foot,” which obtained the message (originally reported by Romain Molina) sent by Julien Fournier to Dave Brailsford. The current coach of PSG reportedly told his sporting director that Nice “could not have so many Blacks and Muslims in the team.”
RMC Sport report that Nasser Al-Khelaïfi’s team is currently in Doha and has initiated an investigation to gather more information. As the employer, the Parisian club aims to handle the situation appropriately to prevent any potential legal complications with Galtier.
