West Ham interested in Conor Gallagher and Kalvin Phillips

West Ham United are interested in signing Chelsea’s Conor Gallagher and Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips this summer, according to the Evening Standard.

The Hammers are looking for a Declan Rice replacement, with the England midfielder set to leave the club this summer. Chelsea and Arsenal are fighting for his services.

West Ham have lined up the pair to replace Rice with their futures uncertain at their current clubs.

Chelsea man Gallagher is struggling in the Blue colour this season after a successful loan spell with Crystal Palace last season.

He is a target for West Ham. Coach David Moyes is a massive admirer of his ability.

The 23-year-old has been a backup player for Graham Potter and Thomas Tuchel. They have used him to spark their energy in the late minutes of their games.

However, he could be on the move this summer due to his lack of consistent game time.

Furthermore, the Blues are planning a summer clear-out, and Gallagher is on the list of potential departures.

Chelsea have spent a lot on transfers and must sell to balance their books. Selling players like Gallagher will represent pure profit as he is from their Cobham academy.

Also, Crystal Palace are interested in Gallagher, while Jurgen Klopp has earmarked him as a potential signing. Chelsea will ask for a figure north of £50 million to let go.

Phillips is a more like-for-like Rice replacement. He moved to Manchester City last summer in a £50 million deal from Leeds United.

However, he has struggled to dislodge Rodri from the starting XI, with injuries hampering his adaptation. He has played only 65 minutes of football under Pep Guardiola.

Phillips has been linked with a move away from the Etihad this summer after only one year. West Ham are interested in services and want to sign him despite concerns over his injury record.

If there is any indication that either man will be available, West Ham will swoop for them.
