Foot Mercato are reporting that Paris Saint-Germain are interested in OGC Nice centre-back Jean-Clair Todibo (23), who recently received his first call-up to the France squad.
Todibo hasn’t followed a linear path. After breaking through at Toulouse, the Frenchman earned a move to Barcelona after just 10 senior appearances. However, Todibo never nailed down a spot at the Camp Nou. Instead, he was loaned out to Schalke 04 and Benfica. It was only during a loan spell at Nice that the Toulouse academy product began to refind his feet.
He then made a permanent move to Les Aiglons and has had a steady rise, which last month culminated in his first call-up to the France national team.
According to Foot Mercato, Todibo is now starting to interest Europe’s elite. PSG’s sporting consultant Luís Campos is said to be a huge admirer of the Nice centre-back and is planning an offensive in the coming weeks. However, Todibo did have a confrontation with former manager Christophe Galtier, currently in charge at PSG, at the Allianz Riviera last weekend.
Other clubs in England and Italy are also following Todibo, who is under contract at Nice until 2027. The French centre-back therefore won’t come cheap.
