At his press conference ahead of PSG’s trip to Nice tomorrow evening, Christophe Galtier discussed the need for his team to bounce back after poor spell of form, as they look to clinch a record-breaking eleventh Ligue 1 title.
Galtier travels down south to face his former team tomorrow with his future more than ever at stake, in the wake of two consecutive home defeats either side of the international break.
Les Parisiens have seen their lead at the top of the league cut down to six points following a middling start to the calendar year, and now have both Lens and Marseille breathing down their necks. The league leaders will notably be without midfielder Marco Verratti, owing to a hamstring injury.
The coach explained that he had spoken with his players to call for greater commitment on the pitch. Regarding his own future, Galtier reiterated that he felt “legitimate” for the job, although recognising that the situation required some show of urgency, as evidenced by president Nasser Al Khelaifi’s presence at the training ground this morning.
“We are all responsible. When we win everyone plays a part, and when we lose we all have to take some of the blame.”
Galtier also chose not to comment at length about yesterday’s controversy that saw Kylian Mbappé distance himself from a season ticket renewal campaign video which was centred around him – indicating only that the club had spoken with the striker and that the matter was now considered closed.
