AS Monaco right-back Ruben Aguilar (29) is out for the trip to face FC Nantes on Sunday, whilst Chelsea loanee Malang Sarr (24) is uncertain due to illness.
Speaking in a press conference, attended by Get French Football News, Monaco manager Philippe Clement said that Aguilar would miss the tie against the reigning Coupe de France champions. The French defender is suffering from discomfort in his adductors, however, it is hoped that he will be fit to face FC Lorient next weekend.
Sarr is a doubt for the match. The Chelsea loanee has failed to nail down a spot since joining Monaco on loan, and he may not feature at all this weekend. He has been returning from a minor knock, but has been suffering from illness, and has therefore missed the last two days of training. The club will make an assessment tomorrow as to whether to take him up North.
Breel Embolo also remains absent and will remain so for the coming weeks. Get French Football News attended Friday’s training in La Turbie, and witnessed the Swiss striker undergoing a personal session. Krépin Diatta and Myron Boadu trained as normal with the team ahead of the tie.
