As reported by Relevo, negotiations for Álvaro Morata between Atlético Madrid and Juventus have broken down.
The Italian club have not paid the €35 million buy option and the parties can’t find another agreement.
As things stand, Morata is staying with Atlético and he has been called up for pre-season ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.
Luis Suárez has left the club and Diego Simeone is the first to know that Morata is a striker who needs goals for his confidence.
With less options in attack, Simeone will decide over the coming weeks who will be his new number nine in the absence of Suárez.
Morata is Luis Enrique’s first choice striker for Spain and will be hoping to hit the ground running in La Liga in the lead up to the 2022 World Cup.
In Serie A last season, the 29-year-old played 35 times, scoring nine goals and assisting another seven.
