Paris Saint-Germain are prepared to splash the cash for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen after identifying him as the priority target for the summer.
According to RMC Sport reporter Fabrice Hawkins, PSG football advisor Luis Campos wants to bring the Nigerian striker to the French Capital at all costs.
Following another dismal Champions League campaign, where Les Parisiens fell short in the round of 16, Campos looks to rebuild the squad this summer.
As part of it, the Portuguese director cites Osimhen as the marquee signing who can strengthen the attack and be part of the club’s long-term future.
The 24-year-old has been in scintillating form this season, leading the Serie A scorers list with 21 goals.
Osimhen has grown into one of the fearsome strikers in Europe under Luciano Spalletti, which has also led to unwavering interest from European heavyweights.
Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United are understandably in the race for the Super Eagles star, who recently claimed that he is dreaming of playing in England.
Nevertheless, PSG believe they can persuade Osimhen to Parc des Princes and meet Napoli’s valuation, which will be no less than €100 million.
It can be inferred from Osimhen’s statements in recent times that he could be looking for pastures green next summer.
The report also adds that he has no problem moving to Parc des Princes, while PSG are willing to include players as makeweights to make the deal feasible.
Osimhen’s arrival could potentially mark the end of Lionel Messi’s time at Parc des Princes, with the Argentine’s contract expiring in the summer.
Recent reports have suggested that Les Parisiens are looking to get him off their bloated wage bill to fall in line with FFP regulations and also make room for potential new signings.
There have been increasing reports in recent weeks over the Argentine’s potential return to Barcelona, who are stepping up their efforts to reunite with their legendary figure in the summer.
