According to Fabrizio Romano, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Manchester United are all interested in signing Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Manu Koné (21) in the summer.
L’Équipe reported back in February that PSG had identified France U21 international Koné as a key target for the upcoming window. Koné said earlier this month that it was “nice to see” the link to Les Parisiens. The Toulouse academy product is originally from Paris, and spent time at Paris FC. PSG’s interest comes despite heavy midfield recruitment last summer. Vitinha, Renato Sanches, Carlos Soler and Fabián Ruiz were all signed at the beginning of the season, but neither has entirely convinced in PSG’s midfield alongside the ageing Marco Verratti.
Romano now reports that three clubs are leading the race to sign Koné. Premier League giants Chelsea and Manchester United are both interested, as are PSG, who “really appreciate” the player. Koné is expected to depart Mönchengladbach this summer, but a move will be worth at least €50m with add-ons.
