Paris Saint-Germain’s hunt for a new manager has reportedly led them to the doors of Massimiliano Allegri, who is bound to Juventus’ contract until June 2025.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, PSG were ready to offer Massimiliano Allegri a three-year deal that includes a substantial net salary of €12million per season. From an economic point of view, it could have been a dream job for the manager from Livorno.
But he had given his words to Andrea Agnelli before PSG approached the former Milan boss via their new football advisor and an old friend of Allegri in Luis Campos. As a result, he turned down PSG due to his responsibilities at the Italian club.
Although the manager only earns an average salary of €8million net per year in Turin, he has chosen to stay put in Italy. He is understood to have promised Agnelli to bring Juventus back to the pinnacle of domestic success.
In Italy, the Old Lady has not won a league title in the last two seasons, which has emerged as a rare occurrence in recent years, considering that they had clinched nine league titles on the trot previously.
As for PSG, their eyes have shifted towards Christophe Galtier (the manager who led Lille to the Ligue 1 title in the 2020/21 season), while Zinedine Zidane remains a dream for the team hailing from the French capital.
