Speaking at a press conference today, Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann said that “as of now”, Joao Cancelo will be given a chance from the start against Augsburg.
Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann has revealed that he’s planning to hand a rare start to Manchester City loanee Joao Cancelo against Augsburg in the Bundesliga tomorrow.
Cancelo has played just 18 minutes of football in Bayern’s last three games in all competitions, but now looks set to start.
“He will be given a chance to start the game, as of now,” said Nagelsmann at a press conference today.
“He’s always reacted positively. There has only been one training session in which he didn’t train well, but we had a good talk afterwards which really helped him.”
Serge Gnabry also pushing for a start after scoring in Wednesday’s 2-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain.
“We had a nice talk and he then played well and scored a good goal. It’s important that you give off the right body language. It was great, he scored once and left a very good impression overall.”
