FC Bayern München head-coach Julian Nagelsmann praised the recent performance of right-back Josip Stanisic and guaranteed the 22-year-old a place in the starting XI against PSG at his Tuesday presser.
Speaking to reporters just after Bayern’s 2-1 league defeat of VfB Stuttgart on Saturday evening, FC Bayern München trainer Julian Nagelsmann noted that “the vast majority” of his weekend starters would again be in the starting blocks this Wednesday in the crucial second-leg Champions’ League round-of-16 tie against PSG. Speaking at his Tuesday pre-match presser, Nagelsmann guaranteed one such player a starting spot.
Following what was a very strong match in all respects against Stuttgart, young Croatian right-back Josip Stanisic will once again get the nod in what one assumes will be a back-four pitted against the French Champions. The FCB trainer praised several aspects of the 22-year-old’s game and declared him fully ready for the big test.
“He’s played his way into the XI with his current form,” Nagelsmann noted, “And since we’re without ‘Benji’ [Benjamin Pavard], he presently retains the advantage. He [Stanisic] is a very reliable player who makes his presence known on the pitch.”
