Chelsea want €25m for AC Milan target Ruben Loftus-Cheek

Chelsea reportedly want €25 million for Ruben Loftus-Cheek who has sparked an interest from AC Milan.

The 27-year-old has been at the Blues since he joined their academy at the age of eight.

He made his senior debut for the Londoners in 2014 but has struggled to hold down a regular spot in the team over the years.

But still the midfielder has clocked up 145 appearances in all competitions, with 13 goals to his name.

With the club bringing in several top players in January, the competition for places in Graham Potter’s team is very intense.

Loftus-Cheek has played only two top-flight matches in the new year.

His current contract at Stamford Bridge is set to run out in June 2024. Chelsea have the option to extend it by another year but they are reportedly open to selling him if they receive a €25m offer, as per Calciomercato.com

Loftus-Cheek has shown glimpses of his quality at the Blues but he certainly doesn’t look to have a future in West London.

It is best if he moves to the Serie A where he can hope to earn regular football.

The English footballer has mostly played as a central or attacking midfielder but he has also been used as a centre-back and wing-back. He is still young and is highly rated for his aerial duels, dribbling and passing ability.

However, €25m looks like a huge fee for a player of his quality and the Rossoneri may not be willing to pay that amount.

Loftus-Cheek is also on €135,000-a-week wages at Stamford Bridge and that could also be a stumbling block in the way of a deal.
