Negotiations are ongoing between Fiorentina and representatives of 25-year-old Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Nadiem Amiri, according to Bild.
Amiri spent the last six months on loan at Serie A side Genoa but was unable to prevent them from being relegated. The attacking-midfielder has two years remaining on his current deal but would be allowed to leave B04 for around €10m after seemingly becoming surplus to requirements.
Fiorentina offer European football after finishing seventh whilst Hellas Verona have also shown an interest in signing the German international.
Amiri joined Bayer Leverkusen from Hoffenheim in 2019 for €10m and has played 101 games in all competitions for Die Werkself, scoring eight and creating 17.
During his six months in Italy, Amiri played 684 minutes of football across 13 games for Genoa.
Amiri may not be the only midfielder leaving the BayArena this season with Charles Aránguiz potentially returning to former club SC Internacional Porto Alegre in Brazil.
