It has been confirmed that Kevin De Bruyne will miss Manchester City’s game against RB Leipzig along with Aymeric Laporte and John Stones.
All three did not train with the club on Tuesday and have not been included in the squad that will travel to Leipzig. City manager Pep Guardiola has confirmed illness prevented De Bruyne and Laporte from travelling, while Stones is recovering from a thigh injury. De Bruyne had played 88 minutes in City’s 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest at the weekend.
While Leipzig coach Marco Rose has confirmed that Christopher Nkunku is doubtful for RB Leipzig’s game against Manchester City on Wednesday. When asked about the 25-year-old, Rose said: “Christo could only complete part of the training today because there was some reaction. We will certainly not start with him. We will have to see if he can be with us at all but we won’t be taking any risks. We have a lot more matches this season.”
Nkunku made his return for Leipzig in their 3-0 victory against Wolfsburg are the weekend making a 20-minute cameo. Whether the 25-year-old players or not will likely not affect Leipzig as they have been able to play without him since the Bundesliga has returned.
