Manchester United are reportedly continuing to track Napoli striker Victor Osimhen ahead of a potential summer transfer window swoop.
The Nigeria international is enjoying a superb season in Serie A and looks like he could be the perfect fit for Erik ten Hag’s side right now as they look in need of a long-term replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.
Ben Jacobs has previously revealed Man Utd’s interest in Osimhen and other forwards in his exclusive CaughtOffside column, and this move certainly makes sense to give Ten Hag’s side more of a consistent goal threat next season.
The Telegraph now claim United are ‘tracking’ Osimhen ahead of the summer, and that will surely be music to the ears of MUFC supporters who may have been a bit underwhelmed by the January loan signing of Wout Weghorst.
Osimhen has scored 19 goals in 23 games in all competitions so far this season, his best ever tally in a Napoli shirt, and one imagines it’s going to be increasingly difficult for the Italian giants to keep hold of the 24-year-old.
Napoli don’t tend to let their star names leave too easily, though, so this could end up being a very expensive signing for United or other top clubs.
