Mino Raiola’s successor Rafaela Pimenta has delivered a mind-blowing verdict on Manchester City superstar Erling Haaland’s price tag.
Pimenta, who has inherited a formidable list of clients after Raiola’s death in April 2022, seemingly shares the legendary super agent’s well-documented penchant for pomp and exaggeration.
Man City ace Haaland headlines a star-studded list of players one of the most powerful women in football has been taking care of over the past year.
The 22-year-old has taken the Premier League by storm since swapping Borussia Dortmund for the Etihad Stadium last summer and is potentially on the verge of a record-breaking season.
Haaland has already tallied a whopping 26 goals in 23 league appearances for Pep Guardiola’s charges, including four hat-tricks, and is running away with the Golden Boot award.
Although the Cityzens paid Dortmund ‘only’ €60 million to take the Norway international to Manchester, Pimenta believes one of her premium clients has a staggering market value of €1 billion.
“Erling Haaland is now worth €1B. I’m serious, I’m sure this is the value of the player,” she said, as relayed by Fabrizio Romano.
While it’s hard to see Haaland leaving Man City anytime soon, there’s no doubt his potential suitors would likely have to shatter the world transfer record if they were to lure him away from the Etihad.
Paris Saint-Germain set the benchmark high when they forked out €222m to sign Neymar from Barcelona in 2017, but given today’s market prices, the Norwegian should eclipse that figure.
In spite of Pimenta’s bold statement and Haaland’s utterly sublime form this season, Guardiola’s trusted ally had an embarrassing afternoon at Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
His inexplicable miss midway through the second half came back to haunt Man City at the City Ground as Steve Cooper’s side netted a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw, helping Arsenal overtake the Cityzens at the summit.
