Bayern Munich coach Julian Nagelsmann has outlined his decision to start Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting ahead of Thomas Müller against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League tonight.
“We had a long discussion and decided for Choupo, as he’s a traditional striker. Thomas was having momentum, so it was a close call,” Nagelsmann said in an interview ahead of round of 16 clash.
“Thomas took the decision well and professionally. I’m sure he will play a very good game if he comes on.”
Müller and Choupo-Moting were both in the starting line-up for Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Bochum. The former scored the opener, while the latter didn’t get on the scoresheet.
