Liverpool boss Klopp has held talks with Real Madrid about replacing Carlo Ancelotti

Jurgen Klopp has reportedly held talks with Real Madrid over becoming their next manager. 

The German boss has done an incredible job at Liverpool since taking over the club in 2015. 

However, there are doubts about his future in Merseyside following a disastrous 2022-23 season so far. 

The Reds are unlikely to qualify for Champions League football next season as they are languishing in 10th with 11 points behind the top-four. They have also been knocked out of the FA Cup as well as the EFL Cup. 

According to El Nacional, Klopp has held talks with Real Madrid about becoming their next manager. 

Carlo Ancelotti has a contract at the Santiago Bernabeu until June 2024 but it is not certain whether he will stay beyond the summer. 

Los Blancos president Florentino Perez is reportedly an admirer of the current Liverpool boss. 

Klopp is said to have requested Real to sign Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham who has sparked a transfer interest from all the top clubs of Europe. 

The German boss is a great admirer of the England midfielder and has lavished praise on him in the past.

Klopp also wants the La Liga giants to make another attempt to sign Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain. 

The 55-year-old is currently contracted till 2026 at Anfield but there has been speculation regarding his future in Merseyside. 

It looks that much will depend on how Liverpool will perform over the following months. 

The Reds can still salvage their season by hitting an impressive run of form. A top-four finish is very unlikely now but it is certainly not impossible. 

Meanwhile, the Premier League giants are still alive in the Champions League and will face Real Madrid later this month in the first-leg of the round of 16.
