Borussia Dortmund are through to the quarter finals of the DFB-Pokal after a 2-1 victory over VfL Bochum in tonight’s Ruhr derby at Vonovia Ruhrstadion.
Emre Can broke the deadlock just before half-time with a remarkable long-range effort from around the half-way line, catching Bochum goalkeeper Manuel Riemann out of his goal.
After Kevin Stöger equalised from the penalty spot in the 64th minute, Dortmund coach Edin Terzic reacted by subbing in Anthony Modeste and Marco Reus, and the latter went on to score the winner soon after.
Salih Özcan sent Jude Bellingham through with a clever through ball, and the 19-year-old then coolly squared the ball across goal to Reus, who tapped the ball into the open net to earn Dortmund a hard-fought win.
