Manchester United’s interest in signing Jude Bellingham at Old Trafford is unlikely to be affected by Borussia Dortmund offering the midfielder a new contract, transfer insider Dean Jones has suggested to GiveMeSport.
The 19-year-old is widely expected to leave Signal Iduna Park at the end of the season following Premier League and European interest, including from that of Erik ten Hag’s side.

Man Utd transfer news – Jude Bellingham
As per 90min, Dortmund are preparing the offer of a new contract to Bellingham in their bid to keep him with the Bundesliga outfit for another season, with the teenager close to deciding on his future.
The £49,000-per-week earner’s contract doesn’t expire until 2025, but the German giants may be forced into selling him this summer if he doesn’t sign a new deal, in a bid to gain maximum value out of him in the transfer market.
According to multiple reports, Manchester United have made Bellingham their top target for the upcoming transfer window at the end of the season, but are likely to face competition from Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid.
Journalist Rudy Galetti has recently suggested to GiveMeSport that Liverpool are trying to convince the teenage sensation to make the move to Anfield, with the midfielder considered a dream signing.
And Jones believes that news of a potential new contract on the cards at Dortmund is to be expected and won’t waver any club’s interest in the hot prospect.
What Jones said about Bellingham?
Jones told GiveMeSport: “News of any new contract offer to Jude Bellingham is not really news to the clubs pursuing him. There has always been an awareness, maybe even expectation, this would happen. It doesn’t change anything.
“Dortmund would love to keep him as long as they can and the player isn’t even totally against it, from everything I hear. But at the same time, he is intrigued about what could come next for him and obviously he is going to consider a return to England before signing anything. But he needs to find the perfect club.”
Would Bellingham be a good signing for Man Utd?
Bellingham would likely be an excellent signing for United this summer, with the midfielder playing at a level to cope with Premier League football and having plenty of room to improve at the age of just 19.
The Stourbridge-born star is enjoying an exceptional campaign with Dortmund, having hit the back of the net ten times whilst providing five assists in 25 appearances, suggesting he can provide an attacking threat from the centre of the park.
The Birmingham City academy product followed up his impressive start to the season with a tremendous World Cup campaign with England, as shown by his WhoScored rating of 7.58 for his displays in the Middle East, ranking him as the Three Lions’ second-best-performer in Qatar.
It’s no wonder why Dortmund are set to ask for a price of at least £100m for Bellingham’s services this summer and ten Hag will be hoping that he can convince him to be a long-term option for Manchester United.
