TSG Hoffenheim have parted company with head coach André Breitenreiter following Saturday’s embarrassing 5-2 defeat at the hands of VfL Bochum.
“With André, we were able to sign a coach who has enjoyed a high level of acceptance from day one, not only among the team, but also among the entire staff, our employees at the office and all fans and partners. We thank him for the pleasant cooperation and the many positive moments, especially at the beginning of our time together,” said Hoffenheim director of football Alexander Rosen.
Breitenreiter joined Hoffenheim from FC Zürich last summer. After six matchdays, he and his team were in fourth place in the table. Since then, however, Hoffenheim have only managed to pick up seven points in 13 games.
‘Die Kraichgauer’ currently sit 14th, just three points above the relegation zone.
