It is looking increasingly likely that Tiago Tomás will not stay at VfB Stuttgart past this summer when his loan expires at the club, reports Kicker.
Tomás joined Stuttgart last January on a 1.5-year loan from Sporting in Portugal. The agreement contained an option to buy of €15 million which is too expensive for Stuttgart, so another loan could potentially be considered.
However, Tomás and Sporting are both not happy with his development at Stuttgart in his year at the club. Since joining on loan the 20-year-old has played 31 times scoring six in the process. Tomás was key in helping VfB fight relegation last season and stay up in the final game of the season. The 20-year-old is currently out with an abdominal muscle tear.
VfB are currently 16th in the Bundesliga and three points from safety. They have not won since beating Hertha Berlin 2-1 in November and at the weekend they lost 2-0 to Werder Bremen.
