Brighton star Caicedo returns to training after failed move to Arsenal

Brighton & Hove Albion star Moises Caicedo has returned to training after failing to seal a move to Arsenal in January.

The 21-year-old was desperate to secure a move away from the Amex Stadium. He even expressed his wish in an open letter on Instagram.

However, the midfielder ended up staying at the Falmer Stadium with the Seagulls determined to keep him.

The Gunners even made an improved bid worth £70 million for the player after their first offer was rejected.

But that was also turned down by Roberto De Zerbi’s side who remained firm on their stance.

Mikel Arteta’s side then quickly turned their attention to Jorginho and managed to secure an 18-month contract for him

According to BBC Sport, Caicedo has returned to training after being left out of the squad for the FA Cup clash with Liverpool on Sunday.

The 21-year-old is currently contracted to the Seagulls until June, 2025.

But as per Teradeportes.com, the Ecuadorian knows three clubs are interested and they will bid for him in the summer transfer window.

It is also claimed that Brighton know they will then have no choice but to sell him.

Caicedo has made huge progress in the last few years. He made an impressive start to the 2022-23 season, starting an incredible 18 Premier League matches.

The hugely talented midfielder also played all three group matches for Ecuador in the 2022 World Cup. He even scored a goal against Senegal but their journey in Qatar ended in the group stages.
