Hertha Berlin are working on a deal to sign Bayer Leverkusen’s Kerem Demirbay, according to Sky Germany. B04 are currently hesitating, but a deal before the 18:00CET deadline remains possible.
In the last three Bundesliga games, Demirbay has played just 10 minutes. The 29-year-old has a contract until 2024 and Hertha Berlin are still seeking reinforcements who can help in the short-term for their relegation battle. Hertha are currently 17th, two points behind Bochum in the relegation playoff.
At the moment, Bayer Leverkusen are deciding whether or not a transfer would make sense. Die Werkself signed Noah Mbamba from Club Brugge this month and are still working to sign Colombian Gustavo Puerta, who is reportedly in Leverkusen to complete a medical – both can play in central-midfield.
Although a defeat against Borussia Dortmund at the weekend, B04 find themselves in an excellent position under Xabi Alonso, winning their previous five Bundesliga games before their defeat against BVB.
