Real Madrid take on Real Sociedad in La Liga on Sunday night and have some injury concerns ahead of the league clash against Imanol Alguacil’s in-form side.
Left-back Ferland Mendy will miss this weekend’s game through injury, and fellow defender David Alaba is also a doubt.
Alaba picked up a calf injury in Madrid’s defeat to Villarreal, and the Austria international suffered a similar injury on Thursday, in his team’s training session ahead of the Copa del Rey fixture against Atlético Madrid. The versatile defender could, however, make a comeback against La Real on Sunday.
Mendy was taken off in the win over Atlético with a hamstring problem and will miss this weekend’s game. The Frenchman will undergo tests on Saturday to find out the extent of the injury and could be facing up to a month on the sidelines, according to AS.
Real Madrid are also likely to be without right-back Dani Carvajal on Sunday as he continues to recover from a hamstring issue. Right-sided player Lucas Vázquez is out until February with an ankle problem.
French midfielder Aurélien Tchouaméni looks like he could return to action soon after a spell on the sidelines with a calf injury, but may not feature at the Bernabéu this weekend. Eden Hazard, who was sidelined with an ankle sprain, is back training with the first-team squad.
